Bhavnagar’s Our Lady of Pillar Dispensary belongs to the Congregation of Sisters of Charity of St. Anne.

The Sisters of Charity of St. Anne started to work in Bhavnagar in 1988 attending the lepers in a Government Compound. We remained in that mission for almost 20 years. In June 2005 we opened our own House for the purpose of dispensary, with 10 beds for HIV/AIDS patients involved in diverse projects subsidized by the Government. Those projects got over in 2013.

Actually, the Activities carried out by the Centre are:

- General Clinic

- Skin Diseases Clinic

- Tuberculosis Program: Designated Microscopy Center for TB (DMC); Direct Observation Treatment Centre (DOT), these programs are subsidized by the “Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program” (RNTCP); Tuberculosis health awareness.

- Mother and child program, sponsored by Emillio Biel (from Zaragoza, Spain): Proving milk and bread for the children; Supportive medicines and weighty chart is maintain; Health talks on breast feeding and importance of nutrition.

- Health Pastoral Care and other pastoral activities: Home visit; Parish work- responsibility in decoration; Attending the meetings of the Parish Council.

Every year more than 4000 patients are visited.

Infrastructure: Consulting Room, Waiting Room, Laboratory, Pharmacy.

Staff structures: 3 Sisters Nurses, 1 Lab technician, 2 Doctors, 1 Driver, 1 Genitor.

El DISPENSARIO NTRA. SRA. DEL PILAR de Bhavnagar pertenece a la Congregación de Hermanas de la Caridad de Santa Ana.

Las Hermanas comenzaron a trabajar en Bhavnagar en 1988 atendiendo a los Leprosos en instalaciones del Gobierno y permanecieron en esa misión durante cerca de 20 años. En Junio de 2005 pasaron a una Casa propiedad de la Congregación con un dispensario y salas con 10 camas para atender a pacientes de HIV/SIDA de diversos Proyectos subvencionados por el Gobierno que finalizaron en 2013.

Actualmente, las Actividades desarrolladas por el Centro son:

- Consulta de Medicina General

- Consulta de Dermatología

- Programa de Tuberculosis: Diagnóstico Microscópico, Tratamiento de Tuberculosis (subvencionado por el Programa Nacional de Control de TB), Sensibilización y Formación sobre la Enfermedad

- Programa Materno-Infantil, patrocinado por Emillio Biel (de Zaragoza, España): Distribución de Leche y Pan para los niños; Control de peso y medicación de apoyo; Charlas formativas sobre lactancia materna y sobre la importancia de la nutrición.

- Pastoral de la Salud y otras actividades: Visitas domiciliarias, Colaboración con la Parroquia en el Consejo Parroquial y en actividades diversas.

Cada año el Dispensario atiende a más de 4000 pacientes.

Infrastructuras: Consulta Médica, Sala de Espera, Laboratorio, Farmacia.

Estructura de Personal: 3 Hermanas Enfermeras, 1 Técnico de Laboratorio, 2 Médicos, 1 Conductor, 1 Guarda.
