This place is situated in Canton province of China. In Jiang Men, Xin Hui district.

Here we have the mission with the Leprosy patients. They are not active cases but now a days they suffer the common diseases and old aged people’s sickness like others.

There are 87 patients at present here. 4 of them are from the village and others are from other leprosariums that come here as referral cases to cure their wounds or to get the prosthesis.

There are 7 sisters and one aspirant in the community. Three sisters are studying for Nursing; the others work in the dispensary and pastoral Ministry.

The Sisters live in this place which belongs to the Government Skin Hospital but the authorities trust them in their work. The doctors and nurses come every alternative day to attend the patients for an hour. But most of the patients depend on the sisters’ treatment.

Daily, in the morning, the Sisters do the work in the clinic, dressing their wounds, giving medicines, and attending any other necessities they have.

In the evening the sisters spend time with the lepers speaking to them and listening their stories, praying with them the rosary, cleaning their houses etc.

The Sisters also have thrice in a year program to train the volunteers and sisters of other congregation who work in other Leprosarium. They come and stay with our sisters for two weeks and learn about the wound care.

A Salesian priest stays in this village but most of the time he is in the out stations providing prosthesis for the other leprosy patients. In our center we have a workshop run by the priest and helped by the rehabilitated Hansen patients and they make prosthesis and proper shoes for the patients.

The Center does not have the out side staff so most of the work is carried out by the sisters and the rehabilitated patients and the priest.

Aquí tenemos una misión con los enfermos de lepra. No son casos activos, pero sufren las enfermedades comunes y las propias de las personas de edad avanzada como los demás.

Hay 87 pacientes en la actualidad. 4 de ellos son del pueblo y otros son de otras leproserías que vienen aquí como centro de referencia para curar sus heridas o para obtener una prótesis.

Hay 7 hermanas y una aspirante en la comunidad. Tres hermanas están estudiando enfermería y las demás trabajan en el dispensario y la pastoral.

Ellas viven en este lugar, que pertenece al Gobierno, pero las autoridades confían en las Hermanas y en su trabajo. Los médicos y enfermeras vienen en días alternos para asistir a los pacientes durante una hora. Pero la mayoría de los pacientes que dependen de un tratamiento de las hermanas.

Por las mañanas las hermanas trabajan en la clínica vendando heridas, administrando medicamentos y atendiendo las otras necesidades que tienen.

Por la s tardes, las hermanas pasan tiempo con los leprosos, hablar con ellos y escuchar sus historias, rezan con ellos el rosario , limpian sus casas, etc

Las hermanas también colaboran en un programa para capacitar a los voluntarios y hermanas de otras congregaciones que trabajan en otras leproserías. Estas personas vienen y se quedan con nuestras hermanas durante dos semanas y aprenden el cuidado de las heridas.

En el pueblo hay un sacerdote salesiano, pero la mayoría de las veces se encuentra en centros externos que proporcionan prótesis para los otros enfermos de lepra.

En nuestro centro contamos con un taller dirigido por el sacerdote, y ayudado por los pacientes de lepra rehabilitadas en el que hacen zapatos y prótesis adecuadas para los pacientes.

El Centro no cuenta con personal adicional por lo que la mayor parte del trabajo se lleva a cabo por las hermanas, los pacientes rehabilitados y el sacerdote .
